Dear Governor Corzine:
For the past several months the New Jersey Crime Victims’ Law Center and the statewide
New Jersey Crime Victims’ Coalition have thoroughly reviewed the credentials of
individuals who have expressed an interest in becoming Executive Director and members
of the newly created Victims of Crime Compensation Agency Board of Commissioners.
We believe that each of the individuals appointed as Commissioner and Executive
Director should not only be personally experienced in victim services but should also be
known and respected on a statewide basis as being reflective of the mission of the
victims’ rights community to achieve faimess, compassion and respect for crime vietims.
We respectfully propose to you the following:

‘The newly created position of Executive Director of the VCCA is critical to the
successful performance of this agency and the advancement of respect for crime victims.
‘The Crime Victims” Law Center and the statewide Coalition do not support the
appointment of the currently acting director. We have contacted the most capable and
individuals in New Jersey, and we will submit to you our
recommendation for this important position within the next thirty (30) days.
New Jersey has embarked on a new dawn in the advancement of victims’ rights. We are
grateful to public servants like Senator Loretta Weinberg and Parole Board Chairman
Peter Barnes, Jr. for championing the cause to make New Jersey the national leader in
vietims’ rights.
Our recommendations to you are made objectively, with one goal in mind, to support the
cause of victims’ rights. I appreciate your attention to this letter. Please contact me with
any questions or comments you may have.
Respectfully,
