Read the following passage

Lava in Hawaii
A lava tube on Hawaii Island was exposed on New Year’s Eve when a
huge 26-acre lava delta collapsed into the ocean. A stream of molten lava
continues now to shoot out of the sea cliff, triggering massive explosions and
waves all around it.
As it is showing no signs of slowing down, tourists and visitors to the
area come to see the spectacle. They ought to be careful, though – when the
molten lava hits the cool sea water, it causes explosions that can throw large
chunks of hot rock and debris.
