CRITICAL ANALYSIS

The literary piece, “Balaki Ko ‘Day Samtang Gasakay Ta’g Habalhabal” by Adonis
Dorado is a playfull and silly because the way the author deliberate the poem was very
interesting and meaningful. The main idea of the poem is to make intense and more pleasurable
moments towards the action of the character in the poem while riding on a vehicle or motorcycle.
The poem, “Balaki Ko ‘Day Samtang Gasakay Ta’g Habalhabal” is a typical scene of a
motorcycle driver in his way of living.

The poem, Balaki Ko ‘Day Samtang Gasakay Ta’g Habalhabal” is all about a motorcycle
driver having a passenger. He motorcycle driver wanted to feel the presence of his passenger by
leaning on his back as they drove on their destination. In order the motorcycle driver to feel the
nerve of his passenger. He wanted to wrap her hands around his waist like how she ties her hair.
The only things that the motorcycle driver want to happen is to have a moment with his
passenger because the way he show his affection to her is obviously a sign of admiration and
love.
The event of this poem happens when the motorcycle driver sends his passenger to her
destination. Not all the lines of this poetry have a metrical pattern and rhyme. Example, the 1st
seven lines of the poem,
“Balaki ko day
Samtang gasakay ta’g habalhabal.
Idat-ol og samut
Kanang imong dughan
Nganhi sa akong bukobuko
Aron mas mabatyagan ko ang hinagubtob
Sa imong kasingkasing.
As you can observed they don’t have a rhyme as you going to read it. It doesn’t also have
a metrical pattern but the thought are still preserved and emphasize. Not all the product of poetry
is perfect creation, some of them are just made by accident but yet, it’s still amazed people who
read it. Even if the some people doest appreciate literary piece, the author gets my attention in
this poetry. I really love this poetry. Indeed, it was a great product of poetry.

The literary piece, “Balaki Ko ‘Day Samtang Gasakay Ta’g Habalhabal” gives an impact
to those who really love Bisdak poetry. It use more figurative speech to hide the reality and
intention of the character in this poem. This kind of poetry must be republished from other form
of publishing. It must be read by everyone because the arrangement of the composition is well
placed.
