Discussion

The limiting factor of the pure samples is space.

Because of the space and the two species in the mixed sample, there are
less P. caudatum cells in the mixed sample. The pure sample has more
space to expand.
The population of one species was less than the other. This supports the
principle of competition because at the end of the experiment one of the
species died whereas the other one didn’t.
I think that the population was fighting for space and for their own
species to live and thrive.
The pure sample of both species show that the P. aurelia breed at a faster
rate.
A strategy that can help prevent less competition is more space and food.
