Proof For Quran

 Falsification Test:
The scientific community adopts the
following approach – they say, “if you have a theory, do not bother
us with it unless you bring with that theory a way to prove that you
and the theory are wrong”. This is called a falsification test.
The Quran too offers its readers several falsification tests. Some of
these were only meant for the past, yet others for all times. The
Quran says that if it is not what it claims then all you have to do is
this or that, to prove that it is false. The unique falsification test is
not to be found in any other religious scripture. The Quran gives
several such opportunities to prove it wrong. Some such
falsification tests offered by the Quran are,
a) The story of Abu Lahab:
the Prophet had an uncle who was known by the nickname ‘Abu
Lahab’ which meas ‘Father of the flame’ because of his fiery
temper. This uncle was one of the staunchest enemies of the
Prophet and of Islam. There is a Surah in the Quran called Surah
Al-Lahab[111] named after Abu Lahab, this Surah prophesied that
Abu Lahab and his wife will perish in the hell fire – implying he will
never become a Muslim and therefore he will enter the hell fire.
This Surah was revealed 10 years before Abu Lahab died as an
unbeliever in the Battle of Badr. Abu Lahab was always eager to
prove that the Quran was false and a human invention. All that Abu
Lahab had to do to prove the Quran and Surah Abu Lahab wrong
was state “ I am a Muslim” – the Quran would have been proved
wrong. He did not have to behave like a muslim. Even if he falsely,
for namesake had said that he was a Muslim, the Quran would
have been proved wrong in the eyes of men. Imagine Abu Lahab
had 10 years to think over it but yet he never uttered this statement.
No logical person will ever put such a claim in his book. The Quran
is a revelation and not the handiwork of the Prophet.
b) Produce a Surah like it.
When the pagans alleged that Prophet Muhammad (had
committed) forgery and thus produced the Quran, the Quran
immediately challenged them and offered them a falsification test
1. In Surah Al-Isra [17.88]. “Say: ‘If the entire mankind and jinn’s’
were to get together to produce (something) like this Quran, they
could not produce (anything) like it. Even if they tried altogether
with help and support.’”
2. Later the falsification test was made easier in Surah Hud[11.13],
“Or they say, ‘ He has forged it (made it up himself).’ Say: ‘Then
you bring TEN Surahs made up, similar to it, and call anyone you
can :to help), other than Allah! If you speak the truth!’”
3. The Quran repeats the challenge and further simplifies the
falsification test in Surah Yunus[10.38], “Or do they (the
disbelievers) say, ‘He made it up?’ Say: ‘Bring then a (ONE) Surah
of its like, and call (for your help) anyone you can besides Allah, if
it that you speak the truth!’”
5. Lastly, the Quran puts forward a falsification test, which is the
easiest of all, In Surah Al-Baqara [2.23 and 2.24], “And if you are
in doubt about what We have revealed (from time to time) to Our
servant (the Prophet), then produce a Surah like the one here (in
he Quran); And call your witness (or helpers if there are any)
besides Allah, if you are truthful (2.24) Certain Surahs of the Quran
hardly contain three verses that consist of only a few words. Not
that people did not take up the challenge – the best poets of Arabia
at that time tried their level best but they miserably failed. Some of
what they produced has been preserved in historical books to show
that they were the laughing stock. This is yet a standing challenge
and a falsification test that is unanswered for the past 1400 years
and will not be answered till eternity.
c) The Quran does not contain a single contradiction.
The Quran also gives a falsification test in Surah Al-Nisa[4.82] that
any one in the world can try. “Do they not consider the Quran (with
care)? If it was from (any) other than Allah, they would surely have
found in there lot of discrepancy (and contradictions).”
Today if anyone wants to prove that the Quran is not the word of
God, he just has to point out a single contradiction in the Quran.
There are many disbelievers who tried to point out several alleged
contradictions in the Quran, but all of their attempts were either out
of context, mistranslations or misquotations.
 Scientific phenomenon:
Dr. Keith L. Moore is an internationally
recognized leader in the teaching of human anatomy and
embryology. Dr. Moore is a professor emeritus in the Division
of Anatomy within the Department of Surgery’s Faculty of
Medicine, at the University of Toronto, Canada.[2] In 1980 Dr.
Moore was invited to Saudi Arabia to lecture on anatomy and
embryology at King Abdulaziz University.[7] While he was
there, Moore was approached by the Embryology Committee
of King Abdulaziz University for his assistance in
interpreting certain verses in the Qur’an and some sayings in
the Hadiths which referred to human reproduction and
embryological development. Moore was amazed at the
scientific accuracy of some of the statements which were
made in the 7th century AD [8]:
For the past three years, I have worked with the Embryology
Committee of King Abdulaziz University in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia,
helping them interpret the many statements in the Qur’an and Sunnah
referring to human reproduction and prenatal development. At first I
was astonished by the accuracy of the statements that were recorded
in the 7th century AD, before the science of embryology was
established.
Undoubtedly there are other verses in the Qur'an related
to human development that will be understood in the
future as our knowledge increases.
 Non-Muslim Sources:
In an article under the subject of
the Qur'an, the Catholic Church states, "Over the
centuries, many theories have been offered as to the
origin of the Qur'an... Today no sensible man accepts
any of these theories."!! Now here is the age-old
Catholic Church, which has been around for so many
centuries, denying these futile attempts to explain
away the Qur'an. Indeed, the Qur'an is a problem for
the Catholic Church. It states that it is revelation, so
they study it. Certainly, they would love to find proof
that it is not, but they cannot. They cannot find a viable
explanation. But at least they are honest in their
research and do not accept the first unsubstantiated
interpretation which comes along. The Church states
that in fourteen centuries it has not yet been presented
a sensible explanation. At least it admits that the Qur'an
is not an easy subject to dismiss.
Some years ago, the story came to us in Toronto about a man
who was in the merchant marine and made his living on the sea.
A Muslim gave him a translation of the Qur'an to read. The
merchant marine knew nothing about the history of Islam but was
interested in reading the Qur'an. When he finished reading it, he
brought it back to the Muslim and asked, "This Muhammed, was
he a sailor?" He was impressed at how accurately the Qur'an
describes a storm on a sea. When he was told, "No as a matter of
fact, Muhammed lived in the desert," that was enough for him. He
embraced Islam on the spot.

 Preservation Of text:
There are hundreds of religions
flourishing around the world: Christianity, Islam, Buddhism,
Sikhism, Hinduism, Judaism, Bahaism, Babism, Zoroastrianism,
Mormonism, Jehovas Witnesses, Jainism, Confucianism etc. And
each of these religions claim that their scripture is preserved from
the day it was revealed (written) until our time. A religious belief is
as authentic as the authenticity of the scripture it follows. And for
any scripture to be labeled as authentically preserved it should
follow some concrete and rational criteria.
Imagine this scenario: A professor gives a three hour lecture to his
students. Imagine still that none of the students memorized this
speech of the professor or wrote it down. Now forty years after that
speech, if these same students decided to replicate the professor's
complete speech word for word, would they be able to do it?
Obviously not. Because historically, the only two modes of
preservation were through writing and memorizing. Therefore, for
any claimants to proclaim that their scripture is preserved in purity,
they have to provide concrete evidence that the Scripture was
written in its entirety AND memorized in its entirety from the time it
was revealed to our time, in a continuous and unbroken chain. If
the memorization part doesn't exist parallel to the written part to act
as a check and balance for it, then there is a genuine possibility
that the written scripture may loose its purity through unintentional
and intentional interpolations due to scribal errors, corruption by the
enemies, pages getting decomposed etc, and these errors would
concurrently be incorporated into subsequent texts, ultimately
loosing its purity through the ages.
Now, of all the religions mentioned above, does any one of them
possess their scriptures in its entirety BOTH in writing AND in
memory from the day of its revelation until our time. None of them
fit this required criteria, except one: This unique scripture is the
Qur'an - revelation bestowed to Prophet Muhammad (peace be
upon him) 1,400 plus years ago, as a guidance for all of humankind.
