Past Activities
1. Northern California Area BBQ – The BBQ was held on July 10th in Vallejo, CA. The
brothers of Theta Pi chapter hosted the event. There were over 200 guests in attendance and
representation from every chapter in the area. Brothers fellowshipped and participated in the
usual activities such as the area-wide football game which got pretty competitive and the OIL
Off competition, which was won by Sigma Iota chapter for the second year in a row. It was a
wonderful site to see brothers dwelling together in unity!
2. 76th Conclave – Every chapter sent representation to the gathering. Thank you, to all of the
delegates who attended the meetings. A special acknowledgement to Bro. Carl Blunt and his
team for running a clean campaign for Grand Basileus. Though he did not succeed at winning
the ultimate prize, he is still a winner to us!
3. Northern California Area-Wide Youth Mentoring Camping Trip – Brothers from Sigma
Iota, Theta Pi, and Delta Iota Iota chapters participated in an area-wide community service
event that brought 25 young men from the communities of Vallejo, Modesto, and Oakland
together for 3 days and 2 nights of camping at Briones National Park in Martinez, CA. The
weekend activities included team building activities, facilitated discussions and planning
activities. The youth will begin to develop a community service project that they will
collectively lead and implement.
4. Northern California Area 3 Stepping Stones Association – Provided one grant of $250.00
to support efforts for the Youth Mentoring camping trip.
5. Undergraduate Task Force – A task force has been developed to proactively support the re-
establishment of undergraduates on the various college campuses in Northern California.
Recently, there has been one initiation conducted over the summer for one undergraduate
(Covaughn Deboskie-Johnson) attending the University of California at Berkeley. We are
currently coordinating with local chapters to start MSP with young men at Stanford, San Jose
State, San Francisco State, UC Davis, and Chico State.

Upcoming Activities and/or Deadlines

1. Area-Wide Reclamation Survey – We are still in the development phase for a survey to be
administered to the brotherhood in the area in order to assess needs and identify strategies to
encourage greater participation from brothers who have not been active for more than 2
consecutive years.
2. Area-Wide Founder’s Banquet – The banquet will be hosted on November 20, 2010 by the
brothers of Xi Nu chapter in San Jose, CA. Tickets are $65.00 per person. For more
