PAPER PRODUCTION

PROCESS
Valentina Tuta
1. The wood is obtained
from the forests of the
country.
2. It is then transported
by truck to the cellulose
paste factories.
3. The pieces of wood from
harvested forests are
taken to the factory to
remove the husk.
4. It is then chopped into
small pieces or chips by a
chip processor.
5. The chips are submerged at high
temperature in a liquor composed of
water and other chemicals to separate
the fiber from the wood and obtain
cellulose paste.
6. Cellulose paste is deposited in
other drums where chemicals are
added to whiten them.
7. The cellulose paste is bleached to obtain a whiter
paper.
8. The bleached cellulose
is passed through a
conveyor belt that passes
through rollers with heat
to dry them.
9. Once dry cellulose is
stored and transported
to the manufacturers.
10. The paper is passed
through pressure and suction
machines that eliminate part
of the excess water.
11. Then, the sheet of paper is
crushed by a large diameter
cylinder to produce a smooth and
shiny paper.
12. The paper is bathed in
starch to seal its surface.
13. Finally, the paper is distributed and cut into the
required measurements.
