Section 4: Observations & Recommendations:
It is observed that for Borrow Area Material used for Embankment & Sub-Grade Test for soluble
1. sulphate & total sulphate has not been conducted. It is recommended that the same should be
conducted on top priority. (Please refer Clause 305.2.1.3 of MORTH Specification.
M 45 Grade concrete for Precast Girder was being batched at Uttamcon Plant at Km. 7 Mahanadi
without moisture correction for sand, as a result concrete mix was produced at a slump of 160 mm.

It was advised to the Material Engg. of Uttamcon to regularly make correction for moisture content.
So that design slumped should be maintained.
