The Far Eastern University – Institute of Law Moot Court Council is participating in the 2018
Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) Arbitration Moot Court. The University will be represented by
Angelica Elmido, Inah Marie Morales, Rose Shahanna Vargas, TJ Paula Jornacion, and Zarah
Jill Probadora.

The FDI Moot Court focuses on cases concerning international investments, specifically the
proliferation of international investment treaties, domestic legislation, and international investment
contracts. The competition aims to expose participating students to new developments in this
particular field of international law, which defines obligations between host States and foreign
investors. It also allows students to gain a practical understanding of international procedures to
settle disputes in this field.

In line with this, we humbly request that the abovenamed students who are enrolled to
your class be excused from attending the same within August 16 to 25, 2018 in order to attend
the said competition which will be held at Seoul University in South Korea on August 21 to 25, 2018.
