Long-term Thinking
For Long-term Health
From wheelchair basketball to volleyball, from children’s archery to a 92-year-old track & field
participant, the Iowa Games and our affiliated events have provided sports, recreation, health and
wellness opportunities to Iowans of all abilities—for over 30 years.

Our best brand is the Iowa Games, but it is the 32-member board of the Iowa Sports Foundation who
powers the programs, events and challenges that attract thousands of participants every year.

3
Who we are...

The Iowa Sports Foundation (ISF) introduced the Des Moines Corporate Games in 2016.
The Corporate Games is a company based competition that enables and supports
teamwork, company pride and corporate wellness through healthy competition. This past
summer the ISF announced the Corridor Corporate Games will take place in 2019 in the
Cedar Rapids/Iowa City corridor.
• Over 60 companies took part in the Des Moines Corporate Games

Live Healthy Iowa offered a unique opportunity for Iowans to team up with a canine companion and get moving.
Nearly 400 participants, and their four-legged friends, tracked and reported their minutes walking, running or
actively playing throughout the six-week challenge.

Live Healthy Iowa 5K

The Live Healthy Iowa 5K was held in April at 19 locations across the state. Despite rain and cold temperatures,
the 5th annual event had 1,531 participants celebrating the end of the 10 Week Wellness Challenge. The 19
locations included: Asbury, Bondurant, Britt, Carroll, Decorah, Dike, Fairfield, Grinnell, Hiawatha, Rathbun Lake,
Montrose, Onawa, Perry, Red Oak, Sergeant Bluff, Sibley, Spencer, Story City and Waukee. The runs benefited
local wellness coalitions and Live Healthy Iowa Kids.
