To Whom It May Concern:

It is my pleasure to write a letter of recommendation for Justin Andersen who is applying for the
position of Lead Trainer.

I have known Justin for the last year as we have worked together as a coaching team for Brighton
High School. During this time, I have been able to work with him on several projects including
planning school-wide professional development and making goals for school improvement.

When we first met, Justin made it clear that his goal was to provide instruction technology
support tailored to teacher needs. In order to accomplish this, Justin been problem-solving with
the coaching team in terms of best technology use, observing in classroom, and surveying
teacher s as to which technologies they need the support the most. Justin then uses this data to
determine how best to meet the needs of the teachers and help teachers choose the most effective
technologies.

In planning his professional developments, Justin keeps in mind the ISTE standards and best
practices. He aligns this in his trainings with the District Priorities. While working with teachers,
Justin makes connections with how the technologies will support teachers in effective teaching
practices and how to use the technology appropriately.

Justin is continually searching out new technologies and how to use them to support students
learning. His goal is not the find the “latest and greatest” but to find the technologies that are the
most effective in the classroom. As the coaching team has worked to refine the Brighton
improvement goals, Justin provides valuable input about which technologies can assist teachers
in accomplishing the improvement goals.

Because of Justin’s commitment to Technology and the Canyons Framework and attention to
effectiveness, Justin would be an excellent candidate for the Lead Trainer Position.

Sincerely,

Allison Duncan, M.A.
