We The People

They say it's the land of the free, home of the brave.

Then why do they still treat us like slaves?

All they see is dark, like being trapped in a cave.

We're all equal—all God's people.

That's why Jesus rose.

To set us free from this sinful mentality,

to make us one family.

So, why do I feel so cold?

My ancestors were told:

“You’re never free.”

The pain on my face—

from the hundred years mission,

the search for the freedom train—

is an omission,

erased from his-storybooks.

While my body shook.

Soldier for the cause,

but freedom holds a clause.

On the road to self-evidence,

I found and lost providence.

Dear World: I would ask for change,

but I seem overbearing like mange.

Memoirs of the greatest story told,

scribbled by Xhosa slaves being sold.

It’s all about globalization

while my life becomes polarization.

My eyes are scars,

because you see my future not so far.

The pinnacle,

where freedom seems to be a miracle.

We The People

If you can love the spiritual,

why can't you love the physical?

We might not have the same mother

but we were created by the same Father,

who has a creed,

of love and peace.

Something the world needs

but hardly receives.

Hate breaks

but love makes us great.

We the people

need to connect like broken cables.

Instead of Cain meets Abel,

our love will become stable.

Remember-stand up for what you believe in because if you don’t stand for something,
you will fall for anything!
