many measures for measuring paper sizes like A0,A1,A2,.. A8, then
DL, B series.

Determining business card size:

I would try to demystify the whole business of business cards printing and its corresponding size

instant digital printed visiting cards in 1 hour , these digital machines print on paper of size 12'x18' or
13' x 19' and can fit in maximum 24 cards in one sheet of 12'x18' paper with 3 columns and 8 rows,
there need to be bleed area and crop/cut marks on all corners and between the three columns and
eight rows as well for perfect cutting of business cards, hence available 12' inches width divide by 3
will be 4' after leaving edges and cut / crop marks 3.62' is available width after cutting and 18 inches
divided by 8 number of rows leaving 2.125' for height. Most digital printers will ask you to send your
visiting card design in corel draw format, as corel draw i.e CDR format itself has an option to make
one visiting card design spread in rectangular grid of 3 columns and 8 rows with the help of shortcut
key with printers to need not worry about the trim mark, crop mark or bleed mark.
Visiting cards printing when done through offset machines requires sufficient number of cards to
make offset printing run profitably, offset printing machines are of size 18'x23', 18'x25', 22'x28',
30'x40' being standard sizes available in India, offset printing machine also result in business cards
of same size as digital printing machine.

It is important to note that certain printers may reduce the size of business cards by little bit to fit in
one extra column or rows to print more number of cards.

If you are looking for printing visiting card in different size than standard sizes mentioned above then
you need to first get it printed in same size as mentioned above if you are printing through offset
printer leaving all sides blank for cutting to take place after cards are printed, digital printers can
easily adjust business card as per your requirement though they may charge you a premium for
doing that.

Visiting cards printing size may vary slightly though in European countries as per international paper
size and machine used there, though the change would not be that large.
