NEW BIBLE STUDY
On the 2nd Wednesday each month @ 10 AM
Pr. Randy will be leading a Bible Study at the
Homestead, 3614 Koenigstein Ave.
EVERYONE is invited to join us. Communion
will be served at the conclusion of
each study.
ALL YOUTH GRADES 9 - 12
LYON stands for Lutheran Youth of
Nebraska, and each year the LYON
Assembly is held the weekend before
Thanksgiving. All youth in grades 9-12 and
their adult leaders are welcome.
The 2019 LYON Assembly will be held
November 16-18, 2018 at Carol Joy Holling
Camp near Ashland, and youth in grades 9-
12 and their adult leaders are invited to
participate. This year the theme will be Lead
Like Jesus, and thanks to a generous grant
from the Immanuel Vision Foundation, all
participants will receive training in Peer
Ministry Leadership by Lyle Griner.
In addition, all congregations will go home
with materials for continuing Peer Ministry
Leadership conversations in their
communities. Lodging and meals will be at
Carol Joy Holling Camp and are part of the
registration fee. Space is limited, so please
register early.

 5TH MONDAY DUTCH TREAT
Monday, October 29, is 5th Monday Dutch
Treat with Chosen ChristCare. Folks that are
interested in great conversation and good
company are invited to eat with us at
Godfather’s Pizza @ 11:30 AM. Come early
or come later – stay as long as you wish!
Cost of buffet is approximately $7.50-$9,
depending on what you want. Bring your
spouse or a friend!
Worship Assistants Update
Beginning November 1, we will be ending the
continued use of Worship Assistants at the
Saturday and late Sunday services. During
those services, Pr. Randy has suggested that
the Council Person of the Week help serve
communion at the rail. The 8:30 AM Sunday
service will continue using Worship
Assistants. The current schedule will be
followed, but just for the 8:30 worship.

There will be an
Installation Celebration
on Sunday, Nov. 11,
following the late
service (noon) as we
celebrate Pr. Randy
officially becoming our Senior Pastor. A
menu is in the works, but be sure to mark
your calendar and join in on this long-
awaited event!
Thank you to Eunice Deuel for donating a CD
player to the Sunday School. We will use it
to help make a joyful noise!
Honey Sunday
It is that time of year again for
The Arc’s Annual Honey Sunday
Fundraiser! Honey Sunday is
slated for November 4. The Arc
of Norfolk is again offering
12 oz. honey bears for a
suggested donation of $5 each
or $55 for a case of 12 special.
As a reminder, your support of Honey
Sunday helps to keep the Arc of Norfolk’s
programs and activities vibrant and
beneficial to all those it serves. All proceeds
from Honey Sunday stay locally ensuring that
activities and supports for children and
adults with developmental disabilities and
their families will continue in Norfolk and
Northeast Nebraska.
