A hardworking and self-motivated civil engineering and construction management graduate who is
with an good knowledge of the construction industry and is aiming to achieve chartered status and
has a keen interest of working on infrastructure development and construction, geotechnical and
structural engineering, project management and business. I possess a strong desire to work on
exciting and diverse projects that really make a difference to people’s lives. I am also committed to
providing a high-quality service delivery to every client and project worked on, and currently looking

 Final MSC Project: The value of soft skills in construction management
The aim is to conduct in-depth research into the utilisation of “soft” skills in the construction
industry where the key objectives are as follows:
- Identify the key soft skills required in the construction industry
- Investigate the links between such skills and project productivity in the different stages of a
typical construction project.
- Explore the training and development practices used in the UK and provide suggestions for
improvements
- Provide suggestions for individual professional soft skill development

 Final Undergraduate Project: Investigating Pile Settlement


This project focused on analysing the effectiveness and validity of the assumptions used to
develop the Mobilised Strength Design Concept(MSD) in pile settlement predictions. The
analysis was carried out by comparison of the accuracy of pile predictions of an MSD with other
pile settlement formulas.

Civic Office, King Street Regeneration: Project supervised by Alan Baxter which involved working as
part of a team to produce the outline structural scheme for a 6-7 storey office building to meet
specifications set by the architect.
 Annotated technical drawings produced showing proposed structural layout for all floor
plans
 Determined beam, slab and column sizes as well as choosing suitable materials.
 Detailed technical drawings produced of beam and column connections
 Determined site constraints whilst considering the sustainability of the building.

Sustainability Project: A year 2 group project that ran over the course of 4 weeks, which involved
the redevelopment of two buildings into a single building for use as an office accommodation.
Project carried out based on information provided by Arup, Elliot Wood LLP, Derwent and London
Underground.
 Most current building plans used to define possible constraints due to various concept ideas.
 Technical drawings produced using AutoCAD and hand drawings to show idea incorporation.
 Proposals focused on delivering clients requirement with minimal costs whilst optimising
sustainable development.
 Good group and communicative skills implemented ensuring work was completed to a high
standard.

Surveying Field Course: Gained an invaluable experience in site surveying and as a member of a
team, working to meet deadlines set to meet specifications and present progress through daily
reports.
 Positioning and setting out using National Grid coordinates. Precise control survey and
setting out using braced quadrilateral method.
 Detailed surveying of local area using electronic tachometer and GPS with data recording,
downloading and data processing to generate a 3-D CAD model.
 Learnt and understood most of the main principles of aerial surveying.

Technical Skills
