1. INTRODUCTION

The structure’s strength is mostly represented by the reinforcement bar, it makes

reinforcement bar arrangement very important. Bar arrangement and general reference of
structure concrete shows the diameter, leght, geometry and quantity or reinforcement bar.
All the parameters shall be maintained during the installation of reinforcement bar.

2. SCOPE & PURPOSE

The procedure cover the installation method of reinforcement bar for pile cap, beams,
columns, pedestals, slabs and other concrete structure.

3. PROCEDURE

3.1 Preparation :

a) Bar bending list describing diameter, length and number of each structure shall be
prepared for the employer’s approval.
b) Deformed and plain bars from manufacture shall be cold cut to the length and
bent to the geometry as per approved drawing in the rebar work shop established
in the site.
c) Prior to delivering at site all bundles shall be check by the site bending supervisor
and site engineering.
d) Cut and bent rebar sent to siteshall be stored clear of ground and protected from
mud
e) Upon delivering the material shall be store near bar bending workshop.
f) Mark the bottom bars position on each corner of structure. The mark shall be set
out from the approved benchmarks.

3.2 Implementation

The implementation for rebar:

a) Lay the bottom bar on 50 mm thick concrete block spacer and tie it to rebar.
b) Erect side bar, tie bar, chair bar on the bottom bar and tie them using binding wire.
c) Erect side bar and tie them.
d) Erect top bar and tie them
e) Once again check the rebar for dimension according to approved drawing.
f) Set side concrete block spacer.
g) Conduct joint inspection to obtain approval from the employer.
