Ferrero Group has chosen to invest in Kinder+Sport as an
international Social Responsibility program dedicated to the
promotion of an active lifestyle for children and their families all
over the world.
These days, sedentary lifestyles are putting our younger generations
at risk - due to sedentary behaviours and incorrect lifestyles.
The goal of Kinder+Sport is to promote the concept of “moving”
with large numbers of children and encourage an education based
on movement and healthier habits.
For over 10 years Kinder+Sport has gone from success to success,
demonstrating the company’s commitment towards the younger
generations.
The Kinder+Sport Pavilion, staged at Expo Milano 2015 with CONI
and MIUR, was an eloquent testimony to the tangible efforts the
company is making to improve the lives of young people worldwide.
It was visited by over 100,000 children and young boys and girls.
Now, we wish to look even further ahead, because children are
our future and the future of children is in movement.

To Ferrero Group, the term Corporate Responsibility has always
meant an attention to local communities and their people,
including all aspects related to their quality of life. For some
years now this commitment has included supporting movement

more alarming, and according to the World Health Organisation
more than half of children around the age of 11 do not even
get the recommended minimum of 60 minutes physical activity

Kinder+Sport supports physical education programs, it provides
technical equipment to schools, it promotes student championships,
it supports the realisation of sports events intended for children,
it organises multi-disciplinary campuses to involve children in
sports, it cooperates with athletes and former champions as
“ambassadors’’ of active life styles and supports research projects
aimed at increasing awareness of the benefits of an active life.

Kinder+Sport is increasingly present in children’s lives all over the
world with many different programs to involve them with sports
of high educational and social value. Here are some examples.

In FRANCE the project has a specific social value. At Temple-
sur-Lot, for six weeks, 1.000 children between 8 and 11 years
of age from difficult backgrounds have been hosted at “Le
Village Kinder”, in an area of over 7 hectares, where they have
been involved in various physical activities watched over by
a staff of 70 childcare workers, instructors and specialists.

In GERMANY there are two important initiatives. Kinder+Sport
has been a supporter of the Sport Badge tour of the German
Olympic Sports Confederation since 2007 and as such it
encourages children and young people to test their fitness
levels in light athletic activities. In 2014/2015 a tour was held
in nine German cities that involved 1.2 million children. And in
2011 the Kinder+Sport Basketball Academy was established: in
2014/2015 it involved 33,000 children in 145 events dedicated
to learning the basic rules of Basketball together with champions
like Henning Harnisch.

In ITALY at Expo Milano 2015, Kinder+Sport took the opportunity
to strengthen its relationship with its partner federations
(Volleyball, Basketball, Swimming, Fencing, Athletics, Sailing and
Tennis) and with the Olympic Committee.
7 school projects were implemented, one for each discipline.
In 2015/2016 a new “Racquets of Class” program has been
developed with the Tennis and Badminton federations. 1.9
million young people between 6 and 19 years of age have
participated in their sports activities. 180 final events have been
held, both competitive and non-competitive. Kinder+Sport’s
team was at the expo for 100 days with a village dedicated to
the promotion of the project. Seven sporting champions helped
us spread our values to a broader audience: Andrea Lucchetta,
Carlton Myers, Massimiliano Rosolino, Valerio Aspromonte,
Fiona May, Alessandra Sensini and Rita Grande.

OUR ACTIVITIES ARE NOT
LIMITED TO ACTIONS ON FIELD
The Village+Sport in Alba is a sports centre dedicated to
research on innovation and didactics in physical activities.
It is led by a rigorous and competent Scientific Committee that
decides the research guidelines and activities.
It teaches its own instructors with an extremely advanced
and accurate training program and aims to set a model for
physical education aimed at the general public, and specifically
to children, young people and their families. A rich and varied
calendar of events includes Summer Day Camps and Sundays
at the Village.

WE BELIEVE IN AN
EDUCATIONAL APPROACH
Together with the Rome University “Foro Italico”, MIUR of the
Piedmont Region and the Italian Olympic Committee (CONI),
Kinder+Sport has developed an innovative educational model,
based on games and movement and dedicated to the all-round
growth of children. The new method is called “Joy of Moving”
and is based on games created to promote the physical, cognitive
and social development of our children, and to increase their
life skills.
