It should recognize individual differences. Assessment should utilize methods that are
appropriate to the type of learners and their circumstances and, therefore, varied.
Teachers provide appropriate assessment when they aim to holistically measure learners’
abilities while enabling them to take responsibility in the process.
1. Formative – assessment for learning so teachers can make adjustments in their instruction.

2. Summative – assessment of learning which occurs at the end of a particular unit. It measures
whether learners have met the content and performance standards.
