EXCERPT FROM THE MINUTES OF THE 32ND REGULAR SESSION OF THE 8TH
SANGGUNIANG PANLUNGSOD OF THE CITY OF ILOILO, PHILIPPINES, HELD
AT THE SESSION IIALL, 6'H FLOOR NEW CITY IIALL BUILDING, PLAZA
LIBERTAD, ILOILO CITY, ON TUESDAY, AUGUST 22, 2017.

WHEREAS, the City Legal Office provides legal assistance and support to the lloilo City
Government and also represent the same in all civil actions or proceedings•
WEHREAS, there is a need to create new positions in the City Legal Office in order to
equally distribute the workload of the said office and enhance the services they render;
WHEREAS, Section 76 of RA. 7160 of the Local Government Code of 1991 states that
"Section 76. Every LGU shall design and implement its own structure and
staffing pattern taking into consideration its service requirement and financial
capability, subject to the minimum standards and guidelines prescribed by tlie
Civil Service Commission."
WHEREAS, the request for the creation of said position aims to achieve the City Legal
Office's ob"ective to provide quality and effective services for the city government and its
consti ts.

Section 2. - The new positions under the City Legal Office shall have the following
duties and responsibilities, to wit:
A. Attorney II - SG 18
Shall assist the City Legal Officer in planning, directing and controlling legal
activities and providing legal counsel;
Shall undertake studies regarding validity and legality, ordinance and resolution and
shall prepared appropriate coffilnents and reports;
Shall coordinate investigations of complaint of the City Government or any of its
officials and employees as directed;
Shall prepare legal opinions on matter as may be requested by the officials/head of
the city government
B. Administrative Aide II - SG 2
Collects and delivers infra and inter-office correspondence, documents, packages and
other materials;
Run errands, sort mails, perform simple clerical tasks and other related tasks, duties
and functions that they be assigned by the Head of the Office from time to time.
Section 3 - The City Government shall appropriate funds for the implementation of this
ordinance.
Section 4. This ordinance shall take effect 1st of January 2018 and after its publication in
a newspaper of general circulation in Iloilo City.
