DIVISION MEMORANDUM

1. Recognizing the importance of research in educational planning, program development, and policy
making in basic education, the City Schools Division of Dasmariñas will hold the 4" City of
Dasmariflas Research Educators Assembly (CDREAM) and launch the Junior CDREAM
(JR. CDREAM) for senior high school students on November 13-14, 2018 with the theme
Inquire. Innovate. Integrate. The venue will be announced in a separate advisory.
2. This activity is consistent with DepED Order No. 43 s. 2015 which calls for the promotion of research
in strengthening evidence-based policy development and sound decision making; and DepEd Order
No. 39 s. 2016 which provides guidance among researchers on the topics that will address the gaps
and issues in basic education.
a. Activate the practice of research in schools and the Schools Division Office in addressing gaps,
improving curriculum, cultivating good governance which are aligned to DepEd mission, vision,
and core values;
b. Deepens the appreciation of students and teachers on the significance of research as vital in
building an inclusive education;
c. Showcases emerging trends and techniques in educational research; and
d. Recognizes outstanding research papers in the division.
e. The participants to the aforementioned activity are SDO personnel, teacher researchers and selected
senior high school students who will present their research papers in the first JR. CDREAM.

COMMITTEE ON REGISTRATION

Responsibilities
• Collaborates with Planning and Research Unit for a copy of completed registration sheets
• Prepares the master list of expected and pre-registered participants
• Creates a registration desk for registration before the conference proper
• Coordinates with the other committees for specific concerns, updates, agreements and
announcements
• Receives inquiries on registration
• Renders financial report on the registration fee and disbursements thereof
Responsibilities:
• Coordinates with the caterer the number and list of expected participants and conference
management including the menu for the duration of the conference
• Manages the distribution of food and or arrangement for buffet setting, etc.
• Ensures that all participants are well served/accommodated
• Coordinates arrangement of function,/conference hall and breakout sessions audio-visual
requirement
• Coordinates with other committees for specific concerns, updates, agreements and announcement
Responsibilities:
• Prepares the program of activities and invitation to resource persons/speakers
• Distributes program of activities and invitation to speakers, management and committees
involved
• Coordinates with the Committee on Session and ensures activities are followed as scheduled.
• Monitors the flow of program/activities
• Coordinates with other committees on specific concerns, updates and announcements
COMMITTEE ON RECEPTION
Chairperson: MRS. MERCELITA D. MENDOZA

Responsibilities:
• Ensures that all participants are given warm welcome and reception
• Prepares corsage and other essentials for important guests to the event if necessary
• Organizes sitting of participants through the help of the physical arrangement committee
• Creatively designs room number/color code and labels for every venue if necessary
Responsibilities:
• Coordinates the decoration of the venue.
• Establishes setup times and places the decorations in the rooms and then returning to dismantle
them.
• Organizes and finishes any last minute assembly of the decorations once on-site.
• Works with registration committee regarding the seating needs, numbers of participants, award
recipients, special guests, etc.
• Ensures the correct number of presentation boards in the Session Hall (for the Oral Presenters)
and the arrangement of posters must be in proper places.
• Posts the name of presenters, session managers, facilitators and date and time for every
presentation in the session hall in coordination of the Committee on Reception
COMMITTEE ON SESSIONS

Responsibilities:
• Orients the session managers shortly before the Opening Program
• Prepares the script for session managers
• Sees to it that all oral presenters have been notified of their room assignments
• Ensures that session managers arrive at the session room at least 20 minutes before sessions
• Distributes the script and the list of oral presenters to be used by the session manager
• Transfers speaker presentations to computer used in session room
• Makes announcements during the session to complete evaluations, to announce changes, etc. if
necessary
• Organizes List of Session Managers and Facilitators and furnishes copies to Committee on
Physical Arrangement
• Coordinates sitting arrangement of the participants with the Committee on Physical Arrangement
COMMITTEE ON CERTIFICATES

Responsibilities:
• Collaborates with the registration committee for the copy of attendance
• Checks the attendance of session managers, facilitators and participants in every venue
• Designs and prints Certificates for Awardees, Participants and Speakers and Committee Members
• Prepares Certificate/Plaque of Recognition for the keynote speaker
• Prepares the cash prize for three (3) best presenters of both oral and poster category
• Assists the emcee during the awarding ceremony
Responsibilities:
• Identifies the contents of the conference kits
• Coordinates with the registration committee to determine the number of the participants to
receive the kits
• Ensures that participants receive the conference kits
Responsibilities:
• Organizes Review Committee for all researches and sees to it that all submitted researches
conform to the format
• Attends paper selection meeting to review all research papers
• Provides all researchers advice on their confirmation for oral or poster presentation
• Coordinates and submits List of Presenters (Oral and Poster) to the Committee on Sessions
COMMITTEE ON DOCUMENTATION

Responsibilities:
• Works with Committee on Session regarding the scheduling and meeting room assignments
• Works with Committee on Physical Arrangement to ensure that all sessions have the AV needed
• Ensures that session content is accurately reflected in the conference program
• Works within budget
• Provides write-ups of all the sessions held in the conference and documents the entire
proceedings for submission to the Schools Division Superintendent
• Distributes and collects evaluation sheets to all participants and analyzes/presents the results of
the evaluation
• Prepares the synthesis of all papers presented
Responsibilities:
• Provides monitoring and evaluation tool of the event
• Coordinates with the documentation committee in the preparation of final documentation of the
event
• Provides the management team of the results of the event
COMMITTEE ON LOGISTICS
Chairperson: MR. RYAN ASHLEY ROLLAN

Responsibilities:
• Works with other committees regarding the supplies needed
• Ensures that logistics shall be provided to the team efficiently
• Works within budget
WELFARE COMMITTEE
Chairperson: DR. ADORACION I. DELOS SANTOS
Co- Chairperson: DR. BRENDA IGOS
Members: Rosanna Remulla, Gilbert C. Reyes
Responsibilities:
• Provides first aid treatment to participants with medical needs
• Ensures that participants with medical needs will be provided immediate attention
• Reports medical cases to the Executive Committee
Responsibilities:
• Collaborates with all the committees (Session, Food, etc), on space, set-up, audio visual needs
such as computers, LCDS, and other technologies needed during the plenary and breakout
sessions
• Ensures efficiency of technologies to be used in the entire conference
• Provides the plenary speakers with LCD projector/laptop before the each talk
1. The Participants to this activity are the Schools Division Superintendent, Assistant Schools
Division Superintendent, Curriculum Implementation Division Chief and Staff Schools
Governance and Operations Division Chief and Staff, Education Program Supervisors, Public
Schools District Supervisors, Elementary and Secondary School Heads, Teacher- Researchers,
and Senior High School Teachers.
2. This year, participation in the conference (JUNIOR CDREAM) is open to Senior High School
students. Each Senior High School is directed to submit at a minimum of 10 outstanding research
outputs of students as their entries to the conference.
3. They may submit their research outputs as part of their requirements in their research courses
subject to the approval of the Schools Division Research Committee. The research paper must be
in line with but not limited to the following themes indicated in the Basic Education
Research Agenda:
Theme 1: Teaching and Learning
Theme 2: Child Protection
Theme 3: Human Resource Development
Theme 4: Governance
Cross-Cutting Themes: Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (DRRM)
Gender and Development
Inclusive Education
4. Finished action research studies may be presented in oral or poster format which shall be
determined later by the Division Research Team.
5. Previously presented action research studies, theses, and dissertations in any research congress,
fora, and conferences locally and/or abroad are discouraged to be submitted to give chance to
others to present their research studies.
6. Teacher-researchers shall submit a soft copy of research abstract consists of 150-200 words at
depeddasma.research@gmail.com and one copy of the full version of their research outputs to
Dr. John G. Nepomuceno at the Planning and Research Unit on or before October 26, 2018.
7. The RESEARCH ABSTRACT shall have the following parts:
Purpose (Objective of the research)
> Design/Methodology! Approach (how the research was conducted, includes sampling,
mode of data collection, scope of paper)
> Findings (results of the research, analysis of data, discussion)
Research Limitations/Implications (Methodology parameters that can restrict the scope of
the research findings and are outside the control of researchers)
> Originality /Value (What is new in the research? What is the value of the research?)
> Keywords (Listing of keywords, should be italicized)
8. A soft copy of the full version of research paper shall be submitted to this link
https://tinyurl.com!DASMAbasicRESEARCH while the action research shall be submitted to
https://tinyuri.com/DASMAactionresearch.
A. 1.1 The oral presentation shall be limited to 10 minutes. Another 15 minutes shall be devoted
to the open forum after all the presenters have presented their papers. Time limit will be observed.
A. 1.2 The availability of multimedia projector is guaranteed.
A. 1.3 Handouts may be provided by the presenters, however, it is not required.
A. 1.4 Presenters shall bring their own laptop.
A.2 For group research, all presenters are allowed to present their research paper and participate
in the open forum.
A.3 Presenters are advised to use the following format for their PowerPoint presentation
illustrated below.

13.1 For poster presentation, presenters are advised to use vertical (portrait) layout of 2x5 feet.
The presenters are discouraged from using too much text but graphical presentation is advised.
Poster should include ABSTRACT, CONTEXT AND RATIONALE, RESEARCH
QUESTIONS, SCOPE AND LIMITATION, METHODOLOGY, SAMPLING DATA
COLLECTION, SUMMARY OF FINDINGS, CONCLUSIONS, RECOMMENDATIONS,
and REFERENCES. For uniformity purposes, poster presentation should be framed with a stand.
It shall be displayed on the designated area in the morning of the first day of the conference.
13.2 Poster presenters are encouraged to prepare handouts/leaflets of their research studies which
may be distributed during the display period.
13.3 Poster presenters are requested to stay where their poster is located throughout the display
period.
C. The participants and paper presenters are encouraged to wear corporate attire during the
conference.
D. The session managers, timekeepers, and hail facilitators will be the Education Program
Supervisors, Public Schools District Supervisors and other members of the CID and SGOD which
will be announced later.
