Product Description.
12 off AIES Dual Key Access Interlock with Safety Switch with Hercules 4 electrical contact module and fixing bolts
Test Method.
Tensile loading direction
AIES Hercules 4 model lock body was mounted to a static plate using the manufacturers supplied fixings and the recommended fixing
method. The side bolt retaining bracket was then mounted to a separate plate using the manufacturers supplied fixings and the
recommended fixing method. These plates were mounted on a tensile machine - see below. The plate on which was mounted the
side bolt retaining bracket was then pulled away from the lock housing at a speed of 10 mm/min until the bolt separated from the
body. The maximum force exerted was recorded. The test was repeated on a further two samples using new bolts for each assembly.
AIES Hercules 4 model was mounted on the upper side of a test rig using the manufacturers supplied fixings and recommended fixing
method – see below. The side bolt retaining bracket was mounted to a block on the underside of a load cell and then to another steel
block which contacted the end of a hydraulic ram. A 20mm spacer was placed between the lock body and the side bolt retaining
bracket at the request of the client. The hydraulic ram was operated manually to apply vertical downward loads to simulate an inward
push of a gate when mounted on a typical installation. The maximum force exerted was recorded. The test was repeated on a further
two samples using new bolts for each assembly.
