Minutes of Transylvania University Panhellenic

October 8th, 2018

CALL TO ORDER:
The regular open meeting was called to order by President Caroline Briggs at 5:30 pm in
Conference Room A. The roll was called by Vice President of Administration Olivia Beutel.

Alpha Omicron Pi
● We had a big little reveal last night for our 3 new members!
Chi Omega
● Our Fall Field Day Philanthropy event for Make A Wish is on November 11th from 1-4 in
back circle! Wings for Wishes-chicken wings but still have the normal games.
Delta Delta Delta
● Barn Dance is October 27th!
● Water Wars will be November 2nd.
● Parents weekend at Keeneland was this past weekend.
● Body Image week is November 5th-9th.
Phi Mu
● We have possible function dates for November 9th and December 5th.
● Possible sisterhood retreat on October 28th!
● National Day of Service on October 20th.
OFFICER REPORTS:
President
● October 22nd is the meeting that we are talking about Greek stereotypes and how to
dispel them!
● We want to start Senior Journal again. Each sorority will have the chance to nominate a
senior to write a journal about how being in a sorority has impacted their life.
● Once a month we are going to theme our programming around a line of the creed, so
this month we will celebrating scholarship!
● We will be creating an I can help sheet to go around to all the chapters with subjects and
classes that people may be of some help in. Hopefully this will help any people who may
not have someone in their chapter that is strong on that subject and they can look to a
Panhellenic sister!
 ● SafeZone training on Oct. 10th from 7-8:30 in Carpenter 004.
● Tonight at 7:30 in Carrick is a talk by Dylan Morrow!
● We are sending two EC members to the National Panhellenic Conference in January. It
is $555.00 for us to go and we need to the delegates to vote to pass this.
Executive Vice President
● Jr Panhel will be getting stitches tomorrow.
● Jr Panhel deadline is now Friday! Please encourage your members to sign up!
VP of Administration
● I am working on updating all of our expenses!
VP of Public Relations
● Still working on the October newsletter!
● Everyone wish Bailey a late Happy 21st Birthday if you see her!
VP of Recruitment Education
● No new business
VP of Recruitment Management
● Transy Tree Week is this week! SE loves trees, so please get involved in tree week and
support all the work they have put into this. Tree painting event on Thursday in Thomson
Lobby, please ask SE if you have any questions.
● Get your vaccinations on Wednesday at the Health Fair!

○ Find some music that helps you study (movie soundtracks)
○ Find a study buddy who you know will get things done with you but will be a nice
person to take a break with
