Bogotá

Bogotá is the capital and the largest city of Colombia, although it has the most modern

constructions of the country also has constructions of the colonial era which makes this city even

more attractive for national and foreign tourists.

Although Bogota is an urban and modern city, it is lucky to also have many 'green places' the

city has beautiful landscapes such as the eastern hills such as 'Monserrate' and green parks such

as 'Simon Bolivar Park'

Travelers find an ideal destination for doing business, which also offers history, fun, gastronomy,

culture and much more.

Bogotá is also the meeting point of Colombia, here all cultures of all regions have a place. From

the gastronomy of the coffee zone to the joy of the Caribbean region, through the craft legacy of

Boyacá and the party of Valle del Cauca are here. Bogotá is simply the union of all the best of

Colombia, it is an infinite place to know. Bogotá is a city for everyone, there are activities and

plans for every taste. It has nightlife areas of different styles and environments: nightclubs, bars,

pubs, craft beer factories and clubs where fun and dancing are the primary factor.

How to get to monserrate?

Take a means of public transport as

transmilenio, take the route that is provided

you from your point of departure to a station

that is close to monserrate and walks.

Chorro de Quevedo

How to get to Chorro de Quevedo?

Take a Transmilenio from your starting point

to the station 'San Victorino' and walk until

you find your destination, if you want to go to

la candelaria and ‘la plaza de Bolivar’ take the

same way because it is close

In ‘La plaza de Bolivar’ are ‘the political

powers’, there is the main cathedral of Colombia

built in 1814, a convent of fashion, the cardinal

palace, the palace of justice, the congress and the

palace of Nariño where the president lives while

exercising his power.

Chapinero

The name of this locality of Bogota arises in honor to a cobbler of the city that

was called Antón Hero Cepeda, occurred to him to manufacture some special

shoes for the women.

They started calling them chapines and the Bogota women loved it because

the sole was tall, made of wood, tied to the legs and were special to cross the

mud holes of the streets without getting their feet wet.

As it was the only one that made them, people started calling the site by the

name of the shoes. Then the word became custom: the shoemaker was called

chapín and his business was told by Chapinero.

That's how the whole area began to take the name of Chapinero and stayed forever ...
