RATIONALE
One of the main goals of the K – 12 Curriculum is to develop students’ 21st Century skills namely creativity, critical thinking,
collaboration, and communication. The K – 12 Curriculum hopes that, by the time students graduate from Senior High School, they are ready to
face the employment world because they have those said skills. With this in mind, Introduction to Research Methods – Quantitative aims to
develop those skills by allowing the students experience the process of writing a Survey Research. Through the Survey Research, students will
have to utilize and hone their higher order thinking skills in selecting, synthesizing, and gathering data relevant for their chosen topic. It is hoped
that the conclusions they will be able to form from their researches will have significant impact to their lives as a student, researcher, a future
graduate of the K – 12 Curriculum and eventually, to their community.

COURSE DESCRIPTION
This course will discuss the nature of research and the distinguishing features of Quantitative Research. They will also be reacquainted
with the basic note-taking skills needed for their research. Facilitated Computer Laboratory activities will be conducted to guide the students in
the process of writing their research paper. In the latter part of the semester, there will be personal consultations per group to refine and
