Scenario: Reporting System

Overview

Description
This lab introduces you to Pravail NSI report system. This lab is divided
into the following parts:
• Traffic reports
• Web reports
• Network reports
• Security policy reports

Objectives
After completing this lab, you will be able to do the following:
• Use reporting system of Pravail NSI.

Equipment/Tools
The following equipment is required to complete this lab:

• web browser
When accessing training labs, you will be prompted for Training Portal
Authentication. Use following credentials:
• Login: student17
• Password: 44AYJCgf82

• The estimated completion time for this lab is 20 minutes.

Traffic reports
In this exercise you need to create a scheduled weekly report of top users
consuming internet traffic.
1. Log into https://pod17.training.arbor.net/
using credentials you have configured in lab 1. Note that you will be
presented with proxy authentication first, use your student login:

2. Navigate to Reports

3. Click on Top Users

4. Change name to Top Internet Consumers

5. Set timeframe to 1 week

6. Change number of users to 50

7. Set From 192.168.0.0/16 to not 192.168.0.0/16 on service All

Services as the filter

8. Choose Schedule this Report

9. Select Weekly schedule in PDF Format

10. Create the report

11. To test report, select Scheduled Reports tab and click Run Now for
the report

12. Click View to see HTML version of the report or download it in one of
offered formats

Web reports
In this exercise you need to create a scheduled daily report of URL Log for
particular user.

1. Navigate to Reports

2. Click on URL Log

3. Change name to John Web Activity

4. Set John@ENTERPRISE as the client

5. Choose Schedule this Report

6. Select Daily schedule in CSV Format

7. Create the report

8. To test report, select Scheduled Reports tab and click Run Now for
the report

9. Click View to see HTML version of the report or download it in one of

offered formats

Network reports
In this exercise you need to create a scheduled hourly report of load for
particular network interface.

1. Navigate to Reports

2. Click on Interface

3. Change name to Ethernet 0/1 load

4. Set timeframe to 1 hour

5. Select Ethernet 0/1 interface of Router R1

6. Choose Schedule this Report

7. Select Hourly schedule in XLS Format

8. Create the report

9. To test report, select Scheduled Reports tab and click Run Now for
the report

10. Click View to see HTML version of the report or download it in one of
offered formats

Security policy reports

In this exercise you need to create a one-time report of Clandestine events
detected by AI device.

1. Navigate to Reports

2. Click on Alert Details

3. Change name to Clandestine events

4. Select Clandestine Traffic Rule

5. Create the report

6. After report is complete, Click View to see HTML version of the report
or download it in one of offered formats

This completes the lab exercise.
