Personal Statement:
Kevin Cox
Kevin Cox ’01 is passionate about CCU,
having grown up on the campus while
being ac ve at CCU spor ng and cultural
events, and coming from a family of
alumni. Kevin has served three years on
the Alumni Associa on board as a
member of the by-laws commi ee and
the Boots and Bronze fundraiser
commi ee. Kevin is a member of the Pi
Kappa Phi alumni group, past Pi Kappa
Phi Fraternity president and chaplain,
Omicron Delta Kappa president, Student
Alumni Ambassadors president,
Chan cleer newspaper editor, Honors
Program member and Order of Omega.
Kevin a ributes his employment at HTC
to his involvement at CCU, and has been
able to build many professional
rela onships in the community. Kevin
serves with the Carolina Forest Rotary
Club, Grand Strand Op mist Club, Grand
Strand Miracle League, American Heart
Associa on, and Conway Chamber of
Commerce. Kevin believes his
connec ons and experience are a
valuable asset to the alumni board.

Rachael Gregory Rachael Gregory ’17 is a proud


graduate of CCU. She would be honored
to serve the university that provided her
with countless educa onal, social and
professional opportuni es. As a student,
she was a proud member of the
women’s basketball team and the
Fellowship of Chris an Athletes.
Although not a na ve of South Carolina,
she has always felt welcomed by the
Conway and Myrtle Beach communi es
as one of their own. And with an
unrivaled family atmosphere on campus,
she knows that she can always call
Coastal home.
Since gradua ng in 2017 with a Master
of Business Administra on, she has
achieved the lifelong goal of becoming a
professional basketball player, and
opened Empire 31, LLC in her hometown
of Indianapolis, Ind. Rachael knows
without a doubt, that her educa on at
CCU helped prepare her for the rigors of
running a company and life a er college.
Rachael wishes to represent the class of
2017 with the invaluable skills she has
learned as a Chan cleer and beyond and
appreciates your vote.

Personal Statement:
Sco Hucks
Jennings “Sco ” Hucks ’04 considers
himself an “Horry Coun an.” Born to a
Myrtle Beach family, he was raised in the
construc on and motel businesses, and
has experience in farming in the Adrian,
Pee Dee and An och areas of the county.
Growing up all around the county, Sco
developed real feelings for the future
development of Horry County. His
concerns led him to par cipate and
volunteer his me in the field of poli cs.
He has volunteered his me in more
than 20 campaigns for office. A er
gradua ng from Conway High School, he
enrolled in Coastal Carolina University.
While at CCU, he became a member of
13 different clubs and honor socie es,
including the Omicron Delta Kappa
leadership honor society and the Order

of Omega Greek honor society. In


November 2000, he became a member
of Pi Kappa Phi Fraternity, where he s ll
serves as chapter adviser. He was also
responsible for planning and
implemen ng a Phi Alpha Theta Na onal
History Honor Society conference at
CCU.
A er gradua ng CCU in 2004, Sco
a ended the University of South
Carolina School of Law, where he was
involved in the Palme o Law Society, the
Federalist Society and several
community organiza ons. Sco is a
former assistant solicitor with the Horry
County Solicitor’s Office, and is the
president and founding a orney of the
Hucks Law Firm in Myrtle Beach. Sco
has also coached three state
championship level mock trial teams at
Forestbrook Middle School, two state
championship level mock trial teams at
Socastee High School, a former director
of the Coastal Leadership Academy
Public Charter High School, and remains
the Chapter Adviser of the Eta Pi Chapter
of Pi Kappa Phi Fraternity at CCU.

Personal Statement:
Angel Onley-Livingston
Angel Onley-Livingston ’04 is the
author of Healing While Grieving and
Healing Wounds of the Soul. She has
been preaching, teaching, speaking and
counseling in the ministry of the Gospel
for 16 years and has been a mental
health counselor for 12 years. As owner
and CEO of Mind Soul Spirit Professional
Counseling Center, Angel provides
clinical mental health counseling and
spiritual life coaching and direc on. She
also is a Level 2 Reiki Energy Healing
Prac oner, Na onal Board-Cer fied
Counselor and Licensed Professional
Counselor in S.C. Angel believes in
bringing balance to the mind, body, soul,
and spirit to achieve wellness in personal
and professional life. “For what is the
point in being successful if you aren’t
mentally and physically healthy enough
to enjoy the benefits?”

Angel feels that she would be an asset


to the board to support those who are
looking toward star ng companies, being
self-employed, entrepreneurs and going
into the field of psychology and social

Personal Statement:
Jen Page
Jennifer Page ’11 is a Horry County
resident and teacher at Green Sea Floyd
Elementary School. She volunteers at the
Ronald McDonald House of Charleston
by dona ng me and cooking and
cleaning for families who stay in the
house while a family member is being
treated at MUSC, and has incorporated
this into her classroom as a service-
learning project. She has also
volunteered for Backpack Buddies for
Horry County children.
An ac ve and proud alumna of CCU,
she enjoys going to and par cipa ng in
athle c and alumni events. As an
undergraduate at CCU, Jennifer was
president of The Panhellenic Associa on
and the Student Alumni Ambassadors,
member educator of Alpha Delta Pi, and
president of the Educa on Honor
Society, Kappa Delta Pi. She served on
advisory, homecoming and class ring
commi ees, and helped design the new
class ring in 2010. Jennifer also worked in
the offices of Philanthropy and Alumni
Rela ons.
An Alumni Associa on board member,
Jennifer believes her strong passion for
the University and educa on can
con nue to be a valuable addi on to the
alumni board of directors, helping to
increase alumni involvement and seeing
the associa on grow and enrich lives
prior to and beyond collegiate years.

Eric Quimby
Eric Quimby ’04 has been a very ac ve
member of the CCU community since
gradua ng, organizing soccer alumni
weekends and serving on the Wall
Fellows board of advisers. In his

professional life, Eric is director of brand


strategy and ac va on at Blue Cross and
Blue Shield of North Carolina. He is an
ac ve philanthropist, coaches youth
soccer and stays busy raising two future
Chan cleers (Cole 9 and Carter 5). He
would be honored to serve as a
representa ve of the 50th gradua ng
class of Coastal Carolina University from
2004!

Personal Statement:
Travis Dannelly
Travis Dannelly ’06 was born in
Ehrhardt, S.C., and raised in Conway,
where he graduated from Carolina Forest
High School. He con nued his academic
and athle c pursuits at Coastal Carolina
University, where he graduated in 2006
with a Bachelor of Arts in history and as
a four-year football le erwinner. During
his 10-year banking career, he has served
on several boards that concentrate on
educa on, economic impact and service
to the community.
These experiences afforded him the
honor to become the president and CEO
of the United Way of Horry County,
which has a three-prong mission focused
on advoca ng for the health, educa on
and financial stability of everyone in the
county. He has passionately served on
the Alumni Associa on board for the
past six years and is the
secretary/treasurer on the Execu ve
Commi ee. During his stewardship to
the Alumni Associa on, he has
supported the con nued growth and
expansion of the endowment
scholarships by volunteering on the

Scholarship Commi ee for the past three


years while advoca ng on behalf of the
needs echoed to the board. The
endowment scholarships are a crucial
lifeline to incoming students and
enrolled students to con nue their
pursuit of higher educa on.
He has advocated for the measured
growth of the academic, athle c and
cultural arts needs of the university
coupled with be er understanding the
diversity of the alumni of the university.
His drive in life is to be involved and give
back in the community that has given
him so many opportuni es through his
service on local chamber boards and
commi ees, Horry County School’s
Business Cabinet and local civic clubs.
Addi onally, Travis was appointed to
the Horry County Higher Educa on
Commission in 2016. Since his
appointment, he was nominated to chair
the Center’s commi ee, the commi ee
for funding to the centers on campus at
Coastal Carolina University, and has
accepted as secretary on the Execu ve
Commi ee. He is proud to have been a
part of the funding process for the Early
Childhood Educa on and Literacy Center
on campus. Travis looks forward to
serving the alumni of the university as he
has done since 2012.

Personal Statement:
Elizabeth Tilley
Elizabeth V. Tilley ’00 is a lawyer at the
Tilley Law Firm, P.C., and is a member of
Leadership Grand Strand, Habitat for
Humanity board of directors, Coastal
Carolina University Alumni Associa on
board of directors, S.C. Bar Associa on,
S.C. Women’s Law Associa on, and Horry
County Bar Associa on. Elizabeth has
volunteered for the American Heart
Associa on Heart Walk, the Alzheimer’s
Associa on Walk and Beach/River
Sweep, and served on the CCU
Atheneum Hall Alumni Center Planning
Commi ee.
She believes CCU is an invaluable asset
to the community in which she has

grown up. Whether it’s a tailgate or a


hurricane relief ini a ve, she takes pride
in the fact CCU understands the
responsibility of being a leading
ins tu on and wants to share in that
responsibility.
As a former CCU student-athlete, she
brings good perspec ve to the Alumni
Associa on board, given that sports have
proved to be an integral part of crea ng
interest from the community and alumni,
and past involvement with the CCU
Alumni Board has given her the
experience to be er understand how our
Alumni Associa on can grow in
membership and services. Elizabeth’s job
requires constant management of
peoples’ most valuable and significant
concerns, as well as their emo ons that
come with such a task. Her profession
has allowed her to develop the skill of
management and compassion, and
believes this is a useful and necessary
skill for anyone’s life, as well as
organiza ons such as the Alumni board.
It would be an honor to con nue to
serve the CCU community.

Personal Statement:
Ed Tkacz
Edward Tkacz ’01 is the owner and
CEO of Tkacz Engineering, a Department
of Defense services company that
provides so ware engineering services
globally in support of the U.S. Military.
The company has provided so ware
engineering services for U.S. Military
customers (Army, Navy, and USMC) as a
prime contractor in Afghanistan, Japan,
Qatar and the U.S., and is suppor ng
Fortune 500 companies that include
Raytheon and Northrop Grumman in
similar informa on technology efforts.
Tkacz sits on the CCU College of Science
board of visitors and was instrumental in
the endowment of the scholarship in
honor of Dr. Stephen Sheel and Professor
Eugene Collins. Tkacz is also a TEAL 1000
donor and is a graduate of the
Leadership Grand Strand program of
Myrtle Beach.

Personal Statement:
Sira Weaver
Sira Weaver ‘01 has made Murrells
Inlet her home since gradua ng from
Coastal Carolina University. She lives
with her husband, Cliff Weaver, and two
children, Max (13) and Kai (5). Sira’s me
at CCU guided her to become the person
and professional that she is today. A er
almost 15 years as a marke ng
professional with WPDE News Channel
15, she decided to open her own local
marke ng firm, Lissi Media. Sira loves
Coastal Carolina University and the
Grand Strand. Her passion is helping
local small businesses flourish along the
Grand Strand and beyond.
