WHAT: Fantasmic Returns to Disneyland

WHO: David Duffy, an entertainment director at Disneyland Park will be

available to interview

WHERE: Located in Frontierland on the Rivers of America, Disneyland Park

WHEN: July 17 2017 at 9 p.m.

BACKGROUND: Fantasmic originated in Disneyland on April 29, 1992, when the en-
tertainment department was asked to create a nighttime spectacu-
lar involving water and fireworks, set to take place on the Rivers of
America.

NEWS INTEREST: After being dark for a year and a half, Fantasmic returns to
Disneyland on July 17, 2017. Fantasmic will be upgraded with new
mist screens that will combine with innovative, state-of-the-art
projection mapping technology for brighter and more vibrant visuals
than ever before. New characters from “Finding Nemo” and “The
Lion King” will be added to the show. Aladdin and Jasmine will join
the show, flying through fog on a magic carpet. Flynn Rider and
Rapunzel from “Tangled” will replace Snow White. Captain Jack
Sparrow will replace Peter Pan and will helm a ghostly pirate ship.

OPPORTUNITIES: Photo opportunities consist of Maleficent, the 45-foot dragon Mick-
ey slays at the end of the show. Other photo opportunities consist
of the new characters in the show and the excited crowd, that has
anxiously awaited the return of Fantasmic. I will be able to provide
B-roll of the construction of Fantasmic, the first show in 1992, and
footage of past shows.
