1.Tesla, Inc. (formerly Tesla Motors) is an American multinational
corporation that specializes in electric vehicles, energy storage and solar panel
manufacturing based in Palo Alto, California

Tesla was founded in 2003 by a group of engineers who wanted to prove that
people didn’t need to compromise to drive electric – that electric vehicles can be
better, quicker and more fun to drive than gasoline cars.

2.Elon Musk, an American engineer and entrepreneur of South African-Canadian

heritage is the CEO of Tesla Motors.He is best known for being the inventor of
SpaceX and co-inventor of Paypal

Elon Musk said that he envisions Tesla as a technology company and independent
automaker aimed at eventually offering electric cars at prices affordable to the
average consumer. The company was named for the electrical
engineer and physicist Nikola Tesla by company founders Martin
Eberhard and Marc Tarpenning.

3.Tesla designed the world’s first ever premium all-electric sedan from the ground
up – Model S . Combining safety, performance, and efficiency, Model S has reset
the world’s expectations for the car of the 21st century with the longest range of
any electric vehicle, over-the-air software updates that make it better over time.

The Tesla Model S was the top selling plug-in electric car worldwide in 2015 and
2016, and by the end of 2017 continued to rank as the second-most sold electric car
in history after the Nissan Leaf

4.In 2016, Tesla introduced Model 3, a low-priced, high-volume electric vehicle

that began production in 2017. Tesla revealed they had taken 325,000 reservations
for the car, more than triple the number of Model S sedans sold by the end of 2015.
These reservations represent potential sales of over 14 billion $.

5.Another interesting product from Tesla is the following one.Soon after

announcing Model 3, Tesla unveiled the safest, most comfortable truck ever –
Tesla Semi – which is designed to save owners at least $200,000 over a million
miles based on fuel costs alone. The Tesla Semi is an all-electric battery-
powered Class 8 semi-trailer truck prototype which was unveiled on November 16,
2017 and planned for production in 2019. The company initially announced that
the truck would have a 500 miles (805 km) range on a full charge and with its new
batteries it would be able to run for 400 miles (640 km) after an 80% charge in 30
minutes and having an acceleration of 0-100km/h in 20 seconds fully loaded.

6.Tesla received a lot of awards during the past years ,especially in 2015 ,such as
the best selling electric car , safest car and companies such as Massachusetts
Institute of Technology named Tesla the Smartest Company.

7.Tesla Autopilot provides semi-autonomous driver assist beginning in September

2014. Tesla replaced its sensors and software in 2016 (HW2). As of 2017,
Autopilot included adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, emergency
braking, Autosteer (semi-automated steering), Autopark (parallel and
perpendicular parking) and Summon (recalling the vehicle from a parking
place).The system includes eight cameras and twelve ultrasonic sensors, in
addition to forward-facing radar. HW2.5 was released in mid-2017 that upgraded
HW2 with a second Graphics processing unit and a driver-facing camera.
In April 2017 Elon Musk predicted that in around two years drivers would be able
to sleep in their vehicle.
8.Tesla's automotive strategy is to move into larger markets at lower price
points The battery and electric drivetrain technology for each model would be
developed and paid for through sales of the earlier models. The Roadster was low-
volume and priced at 109,000$ .Model S and Model X targeted the broader luxury
market and the Model 3 is aimed at a higher-volume segment costing half of the

been gradually improving the past years , there are some weaknesses as well , most
of the people complaining about the high prices

9.With Tesla building its most affordable car yet, Tesla continues to make products
accessible and affordable to more and more people, ultimately accelerating the
advent of clean transport and clean energy production. Electric cars, batteries, and
renewable energy generation and storage already exist independently, but when
combined, they become even more powerful.
