8 Drug Suspects Arrested in Cavite
Eight drug suspects were arrested by the police in Cavite province’s upland districts amid the onslaught
of Typhoon Ompong over the weekend.
The eight suspects were arrested in buy-bust and search operations in Barangay Francisco in Dasmariñas
District, Barangays Biga I and Poblacion in Silang, Barangay Ibayo Silangan in Naic and Barangay Talon I
in Amadeo.

President Duterte blasted the Commission on Audit (COA) for not allowing the local government of
Ilocos Norte to make a cash advance as claimed by Governor Imee Marcos.
Duterte, was visiting the province Sunday just after it was struck by typhoon “Ompong,” when he
learned from Marcos that COA only allowed the province to make a cash advance of P15,000 for food.
“Lahat hindi pwede i-cash advance (We cannot make any cash advance on anything) and this occurred
over the weekend, which made things even more difficult,” Marcos complained during the situation
briefing in Ilocos Norte Sunday evening.

Four mild earthquakes shook Surigao del Norte province Monday morning, the Philippine Institute of
Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.
In its bulletin, Phivolcs said a 2.4 magnitude tremor was recorded at 5:14 a.m.
The epicenter was plotted 15 kilometers (km) southwest of Malimono town, Surigao del Norte province.
The tremor had a depth of 23 km, it said.

Three major dams breached their spilling level after midnight yesterday, spawning fears in low-lying
