ANIMALS NEED FOREVER HOME

Animals are everywhere, whether they’re at an animal shelter,
or even at your own home! Have you ever thought about bring-
ing a new member home to the family? Perhaps, a furry mem-
ber? Adopting is a great source of making a difference in not
just an animal’s life, but you and your family’s life as well!
Having a pet in your life can bring so much happiness. Any-
time in your life can have the potential to bring a new being in
your life. If you’re depressed or sad, and not wanting to get out
of the house, having an animal depend on you can create a new
environment for the better. The dependency can make you feel
like you’re need, because you are. Whether or not you feel like
you have a purpose in your life, your pet will see you as having
a purpose, to be in their life. Having a dog means you can go

INSIDE STORY
HEADLINE
Vektor the pup is a
puppy I worked with
while volunteering at
an animal shelter! I
feel that having a
connection with ani-
mals is important o
develop an under-
standing to their en-
vironment.

I felt this when I

would volunteer to
work with animals.
Sure, a lot of the

work consisted of
cleaning up feces,
along with overall
cleanup and laundry,
but it’s worth it to
work with such
amazing animals.
Not only was I able to
make an impact on
their life, but they’ve
made an impact in
my life as well! VEKTOR THE PUP
Here is, Vektor! He would always follow me around while I
cleaned, he was my little buddy. A lot of the other dogs didn’t
really pay him any mind, or they would walk over him since he
was so small. The day he got adopted was bittersweet. Each dog
that gets adopted needs to be bathed before they go to their new
home. I had the honor to bathe him. While bathing him, I kept
telling him how happy I was that he’s going to have a forever
home, that he will be happy and not worry about being around
dogs that scare him. When he left I waved goodbye, he made an
impact on me, and I hope I made a positive impact on him as
well!.

VOLUNTEERING AT AN ANIMAL SHELTER
Thinking about volunteering at an animal shelter? YAY! Contributing
in any sort of aspect to the community is always essential. When it
comes to volunteering at an animal shelter, it’s not just working and
playing with dogs, most times, it involves a lot of hands-on dirty-work
with cleaning up feces, changing out the laundry and beds they sleep
on, and possibly being scratched and bitten, especially when giving
baths. Make sure to be prepared to deal with nauseating smells. This
may steer you away from wanting to volunteer, but think about the dif-
ference you will make, the comfort you bring to the animals. You make
think it’s a small contribution, but it goes a long way! At the end of the
day, it’s worth it.

“Animals are such agreeable friends—they ask no questions; they pass no

criticisms.” –George Eliot

cats. My Siberian Husky

Maddie, my Siamese cat
Lily, and my Domestic
cat Shadow. They
helped inspire me to
volunteer at an animal
shelter.
