Science Lab Report Format

(This should be the title of your lab experiment)

Purpose: Why are you doing this experiment?

Hypothesis: What do you think the results of your experiment will be?
This is an educated guess using your prior knowledge.

Materials: What materials will you be using to conduct the experiment. Make a list of
everything you will be using.

Method: These are the steps that you took to do the experiment. They should be
numbered in the order in which you did them.

Observations: What did you see while you were conducting the experiment? Sometimes
this requires timing things, and sometimes this is just watching what
happens. Observations can be data in a table, or written observations. They
could also include pictures of what you observed during the experiment.
These are not opinions, record only exactly what you see.

Conclusions: What do you think happened during the experiment and why do you think
it happened? Use your observations to determine what happened and
connect it to your purpose. Use your knowledge and understanding to
explain why it happened.

Make sure that all your information is in full sentences, and done neatly in your book.
