LESSON NAME: Whole Numbers

Lesson time : 30 minutes


Suitable age : 7 years old, Year 1, Primary school

Main Goal:
Addition with the highest total of 100
Overview:
1. Pupils have the knowledge of addition with the highest total of 18.
2. Pupils have the knowledge of addition with regrouping.

Objectives:
Pupils will be able to add two numbers with the highest total of 100.

Materials and Tools:


1. Video related to subject, Scratch program, markers and box, drinking bottles,
flash cards

Before the lesson Duration: 1 minute


Teacher prepares teaching aids
1. Exercise in Scratch, ready in pupil’s laptop.
2. Markers and box, drinking bottles, flash cards

Video played to welcome pupils into the class.


(Situation : Class session is after recess)

Activation Duration: 5 minutes

1. Teacher shows 2 pens, asks pupils the number of pens and put them into a
box.
2. Teacher takes another 5 pens, asks pupils the number of pens and put
them into a box.
3. Teacher asks how many pens are there in the box.
4. Teacher relates the activity with the topic today.

Develop Duration:10 minutes

1. Teacher shows the symbol of addition and the terms related to addition.
2. Teacher shows a few methods on how to add.

Example 2. Daily water intake:
