PURPOSIVE COMMUNICATION

Purposive Communication is writing,


speaking, speaking and presenting to different
audiences and for various purposes.
The five (5) skills of communication
(listening, speaking, reading, writing, viewing)
are studied and simulated in advanced
academic settings, such as conversing
intelligently on a subject of import, reporting
on group work and/or assignments, writing and
delivering a formal speech, writing minutes of
meetings and similar
Purposive communication is done with a
purpose in mind, not blurting out whatever
comes to mind.
Introduction to Purposive Communication
Purposive Communication is a 3-unit course
which aims to:
1. develop students’ communicative
competence
2. enhance the cultural and intercultural
awareness of students
3. equip the students with the tools for
critical evaluation
