Position Statement
Client: Bridge City ISD

The Bridge City Independent School District supports the passing of a $150 million bond

that will allow them to update their campuses. They further recognize that funds would go towards

building new schools, purchasing new buses, increasing technology, and updating classroom and

lunchroom seating.

BCISD assessed the region and found that measures must be taken to expand the district,

as more families have been moving to Bridge City after Hurricane Harvey. More students mean

more pressure to make room in the schools for them. Local citizens are encouraged to vote yes to

the bond as a way of demonstrating support for the school district.

Further, the town should support this bond in order for the school district to create new

jobs for currently unemployed teachers and workers and to allow for additional room to teach more

students, therefore expanding BCISD and boosting its reputation.

Registered peoples who plan to vote should spread the word about supporting the bond to

others. They should also make sure to be there during voting hours to perform their civic duty and

express their position on this bond. Voting will begin on March 14th, 2018 at Bridge City

Elementary from 7 am – 8 pm in the cafeteria, located on the left side of the building.
