On-Line BIST for Distributed Systems
• This work involves a set of experiments, using different programming
languages (Java and Visual Basic) and CORBA as data exchange
technique, aiming at overcoming the problems that arise during the on-line
testing of distributed systems.
• The main concern of the experiments being the distributed character of the
testing technique, the focus is on the communication modules.
• The DBIST structure having a slave and a master part is implemented in
Java, using JDK on Windows NT.
• The slave manages the local BIST module according to the commands
received from the master.
• The master has a graphical user interface through which the user
coordinates the distributed testing process for multiple slaves and
centralizes the test results.
• Experimental results gathered on distributed systems demonstrate the
effectiveness and the usability of the developed tools.

Using BIST to Increase Wireless
Distributed Systems’ Security
• Enhancing the functional security of a distributed
wireless system with built-in self-test capabilities
(DBIST).
• Increasing the availability of a wireless distributed
system using test techniques.
• Planning a low-cost solution for the above, using a
combination of Web technologies, PHP scripting and
WAP mobile data access.
• Designing a fast development cycle, using existing
technologies.
