DOLE Department Order 149 Series 2016 and 149- A Series 2017
The department order 149 series 2016 is all about child protection wherein a person under
18 years of age cannot be exposed to hazardous places and extreme work. As for me, it is right
that this department order is implemented because it does not only help student-workers but also
benefits them with safety. The guidelines include different kinds of work establishments and
activities that are declared to be hazardous to minors. Such activities include mining, construction,
transportation, water supply, forestry, fishing, hunting, security and investigation and
manufacturing of alcohol beverages. This therefore justifies the safety of minors when applying
for a job anywhere because it is mandated and followed by most companies and establishments.
And doesn’t expose minors to dangerous tools and tasks that can harm a person. While in
department order 149- A series 2017, it tackles more on the agriculture industry. Specifically it
talks more on hazardous work of farmers and other plant growers. Hazardous work to minors
includes when preparing for planting activities such as grafting, budding, and marcotting and also
tending activities such as weeding; handling, spraying and application of harmful fertilizers.
Harvesting activities can also be hazardous because it involves cutting and picking produces.
Another kind of work that is considered to be dangerous are animal producers who does rearing
activities that involve collecting, loading, unloading, and transporting feeds. Harvesting activities
that include milking and preparations for warehousing and some works at slaughterhouses and
abattoirs which are strictly off-limits to people under 18 years of age.

Good Day!
Please accept this letter as written notification that my daughter, Omaira Nasra Munder

Ovaries and will be receiving treatment. Attached with this letter is a itinerary of her ticket and her
Ultrasound last year. I am hoping that you would excuse her and allow her to take early and late
