The studio light dimmer is at the top left of the studio area. It al-
lows the studio area to be brightened or darkened. The studio light
has no influence on the shot.
Besides the studio light dimmer you can find the Studio Grid but-
ton ( ). When activated, the grid is displayed in the studio as
positioning aid. The grid is measured in meter units.

If you move an object in the studio with activated Grid, so lengths

The studio library
The studio library contains everything you'll need for your shoot.
It contains a large selection of models, lighting technology,
tools and props. All of the elements can be placed very easily in
the studio area by drag & drop (or double-click).

Note: The studio library is constantly being expanded and


updated.

Models

Models You can move or rotate the model within the room with the help
of the yellow grab elements.
The studio library offers you a selection of models. There are two
types of models you can choose in the studio library.

Placing and moving a model in the studio area

Click on the model in the studio library and click & drag it to the
set or place it by double clicking it. You can delete a model from the set at any time with the com-
mand “Del” (Mac: “cmd” + “”) on your keyboard or via the
“Remove from Set“ button ( ) in the model
settings.

the output set via the output slider. Various equipment options are
available for each light shaper and the power of the flash head can

Speedlights/On-Camera Flash
Note: The zoom area can ONLY be changed for speedlights
without light modifiers. Choose 24mm or 35mm on the real
set for speedlights with light modifiers. This zoom area is
also the basis for speedlights with light modifiers (e.g. octo-
box or transparent umbrella) in set.a.light 3D.

3. Determine Guide Number:

1. Determine Control Range:

The guide number is the output rating of your speedlight.


Find the dropdown menu in the left area of “Control Range” and
choose the matching control range for your speedlight from there. Select the guide number (the available choices are already pre-
selected in accordance to your previously given information) from

number always refers to a certain mm specification (e.g. 35mm

image templates or you can import you own images.

image. If you want to zoom in on your image in the preview window,
you can swap the position of the camera window with the studio

A histogram with a peak value at one of its ends displays a curtail-
ment of depth and light in the photo. The curtailment can lead to a
loss of image details.

The real-time histogram integrated into the software offers you

rial. All dimensions will be specified according to your selection in
meters (m) or feet (ft).

rectly rendered image will automatically be exported to the image
folder of the saved shoot.

2. An unrendered image from the timeline can be loaded by


double-clicking in the Photo viewer, from where it can then be
rendered.
You can have the snapshots in your timeline automatically ren-

You will find this in the submenu ( ) in the Timeline tab. Previ-
ously rendered images will be skipped.

Re-rendering photos

If you want to re-render a previously rendered photo in another


size, open the image in the Photo viewer by double-clicking in the
timeline. Click on “Re-render Shot” to re-render the image.
