Time: 25 minutes
Lesson ideas:
Before starting the quiz as a warmer activity ask students to shout out any well known fashion designers, American or English
cookery personalities, famous cyclists, British comedy actors, British football clubs in the premiership. This should only take 5
minutes or so, but will get students in the mood for the quiz.

When students have done the quiz either independently or in pairs, get them to write a little quiz for their partner. They use the
dictionary to find 5 more people in addition to the ones they have just found. They then write a quiz similar to the one above for
their partner which they can quiz their partner on either orally or as a written activity.

Suggested homework activity:


Students choose 1 of the people in the quiz and find out more information about them, 50-100 words. They could use reference
books or the internet. Encourage the students to use vocabulary recently learnt in class as well as recently covered grammar
areas. Next class they could do a mini presentation to the class.
