Anatomy Academy
 Through the Anatomy Academy program done through Utah Valley University, I was
able to work with autistic children by teaching them small anatomy lessons about all of
the body systems. We would meet with the children once a week in their classroom and
would break out where we had two kids to one instructor. As an instructor, I was able to
create my own lesson plans based off of what I believed to be the best learning style for
the kids under my care. Our lessons ranged from a cow heart dissection all the way down
to modeling skeletal bones out of playdough.

Know Greater Hero’s

 This program was done through Salt Lake Community College and extended to the
individuals on the college sporting teams. I myself was on the SLCC cheer team for two
years and was able to be a part of this program during my second year. During this
program the athletes got together to create a program to put on for elementary school kids
during assemblies. We would go to a new elementary school every week and promote
sports and demote the usage of drugs through our assembly. This was such a rewarding
experience to be able to reach out to so many kids and have them look up to you for
being a college athlete. I can only imagine how many hearts and minds we were able to
touch by reaching out and setting a good example.
