With reference to your advertisement published in the daily newspaper, I would like to apply for
the post of full time Lecturer for Structural Engineering related subjects. I am a registered
engineer in Nepal Engineering Council and have about 3 years of work experience in civil
engineering. Recently, I completed my Master’s in Structural Engineering from a renowned
university in China. I possess a good understanding of Nepal National Building Code as I worked
as a support engineer for municipalities under Department of Urban Development and Building
Construction, Ilam Division and Kathmandu Division. During this course of time, I had major role
in checking the building code norms for private buildings, high-rise apartments and hospitals.
These responsibilities really helped me to develop myself in Structural Engineering field. I have
skill of developing, reading and interpreting AutoCAD, SAP2000, MS-Office, Etabs and Staad Pro.
During my course of study in Master’s degree, I learned the skill of using MATLAB and ABAQUS
as well. I also worked in an INGO named Build Change where I had the opportunity to work with
design of load bearing structures and retrofit process. All these experiences and my opportunity
to complete Master’s degree from China helped me to understand the importance, opportunities
and responsibilities of being a teacher in the related field.
I am confident that my knowledge of Civil Engineering with specialization in Structural
Engineering and skill for deliverance of my knowledge is my great advantage for this job. I always
wanted to pursue my career as a teacher, so I am eager to join this job. If I am kindly selected, I
will always promote the prosperity and dignity of this institution. My CV has been attached
