    As our philanthorpy, we work closely with the Make-a-Wish Foundation and every year we
    adopt a wish child to grant their wish. I participate in several fundraisers each year to help
    raise the money we will need to achieve our goal.

    As an ambassador, I am the face representing the school for potential new students when they
    mvanzeeland@carthage.edu come to tour. I need to be able to appropriately answer their questions and interact with a variety
    of people. I also attend networking events to attract new students and participate in Q&As

    As a member of this society, I participate in a variety of volunteer experiences within the
    community. A couple of the programs I have done so far include, volunteering at the humane
    society, working the local food pantry, and participated in helping to clean the trash off of a
    stretch of the coast of Lake Michigan.

    • Shalom Homeless Shelter Volunteer


    At the shelter I worked in the classroom through the after school tutoring program. This was to
    help the students with their homework and keep them engaged in extra-curricular activities that
    are designed to keep them out of trouble and on a productive path for their futures.
