Meet the Student Teacher

Dear Families,
My name is Allison Carlson and I will be working as a student teacher for the next seven weeks in your child’s
third grade classroom. I am working towards a certification teaching General Education grades Pre-K through four and Special
Education in grades Pre-K through eight. I have experience working with children of all ages and I am beyond excited to
continue my experience working in your child’s third grade classroom.

I am originally from Upstate New York but have lived in Greensburg for the last few years while attending Seton Hill University.
Besides getting my practical experience with children by being in the College of Education, I have also worked in the Early
Childhood Department of the YMCA and have volunteered in classrooms and daycares. Outside of working with children some
of my interests include interior decorating, DIY projects, camping, and shopping. My goal upon graduating is to obtain a
teaching position in an inclusive classroom in a rural setting.

I will be working with the students in your child’s classroom in various capacities both with small and large groups. I will
gradually increase my responsibilities with the students over the course of the next seven weeks. I am looking forward to getting
to know your child and working with them.
