Copper Pipe

-a red-brown metal, the chemical element of atomic number 29. It is soft, malleable and ductile
metal with very high thermal and electrical conductivity.
-most often used for supply of hot and cold top water, and as refrigerant line in HVAC systems.
The History of Copper Pipe
The history of copper delivering water goes back over 4000 years. Ancient Egyptians used
copper as a conduit material to distribute water around 2150 BC. The Ancient Romans used
copper for water pipes and cisterns by the 1940’s, copper became the most used material for
plumbing in the developed world.
The English word “copper” comes from the Latin word “cuprum” which means “from the Island
of Cyprus is located in the Eastern Mediterranean Sea, just off the coast of modern-day Turkey.
It’s also only a little over an hour by plane from Cyprus to Cairo, Egypt, and its close proximity to
the Nile Delta explains why copper has been found in Egyptian history and hieroglyphs.
