ABSTRACT

Diabetes Mellitus is a chronic health that becomes disease problem in Indonesia. One
of major complication Diabetes Mellitus (DM) is a wound healing disorder. At present,
treatments of diabetic ulcer use Normal saline and gauze. The problem are it’s must
change everyday and gauze often fall drop at the wound. CFD Foam is using foam
dressing useful for keeping moisture of wounds needed to accelerate wound healing
and softly just change three times a day. While Crinum asiaticum L. is very easy found
in Indonesia. Its contain flavonoids, saponins, and alkaloids compound have function as
anti-inflammatory, anti-microba, and anti-oxidant. The Purpose of this study was to
determine the effect of foam dressing contain of Crinum asiaticum L. leaves extract in
accelerating wound contraction. This study used a randomized posttest only control
group design consist of 25 wistar rats divided into 5 groups (n = 5). Data were obtained
from wound contraction after transdermal treatment for 14 days and analyzed with
normality test data, homogeneity variance test, one way ANOVA test, Post hoc test
(Tukey test) with significance level 0,05 (p <0,05) and confidence level 95% (α = 0.05).
Based on the One Way ANOVA Test results, the area of wound contraction data shows
a signification number (p <0.05) The result of post hoc test (tukey test) wound
contraction group of Diabetes mellitus rats model which foam treatments contain
Crinum asiaticum extract 0.2 g has significant number with group of DM foam dressing
without extract (p = 0,01; α = 0 , 05). The conclusion is using of CFD (Crinum asiaticum
L. For Diabetic ulcer ) Foam contain of 0.2 g Crinum asiaticum leaf extract can
accelerate wound contraction compared using foam without extract and with foam
contain of 2 g, and 4 g extract.
