Kuwait National Focal Point have been Established by


Kuwait Government at the request of United Nations
Compensation Committee (UNCC) to be as a Liaison
Organization between UNCC and State Holders for the
Implementation of Kuwait Environmental Restoration
Project funded from UNCC compensations due to the
occupation of Kuwait by Iraqi regime. UNCC awarded
Kuwait with approximately 2.9 BN $ as an award for
remediation of damages to Kuwait Environment from
Iraqi invasion such as military fortification and oil well
damages and oil fires as well as oil lakes caused by oil
well fires.

KNFP Role, with Board of Directors headed by Kuwait Oil


Minister, and a Secretary General, is to oversee the
establishment of implementation plans and oversee the
implementation in the field by the Stokeholds. Work
involves excavation, transportation, and remediation of
26,000,000 m3 of oil lakes and contaminated soil as well
as revegetation of 1600 km2 of nature reserve areas.
My role as SR. Technical Consultant is to direct a team of
specialists and engineers to assess Stakeholders in
establishing implementation plans, get UNCC approval
on the plans and funding and oversee the preparation of

experts employed by KNFP board as a requirement of
UNCC to Audit KNFP and Stakeholders performance.
