A VISION FOR FIM

FIM
Development of the role of FIM as a strong, dynamic, influential and respected
world federation

o Maintaining contact with national federations and CONUs, becoming their

voice in the world of sport and politics
o FIM Administration has to strive towards being a well functioning service
center - cost effective, fast and efficient

Transparency & public perception

Making more information available to FMNs and external partners

o Close cooperation with established organisations like EU, UN, IOC, FIA,
ACEM, FEMA, etc. as well as national governments
o Close cooperation with FMNs, Secretary Generals, Working Groups,
stakeholders and external experts
o Close cooperation with universities in order to be on the cutting edge of
technology and ensuring access to experts
o Extended communication of the activities undertaken by the Board members
on behalf of FMNs
o Higher visibility in mass media, new and modern website, social media
activities
o Setting up a transparent code of conduct with promotion partners;
information about contracts (rights & obligations)
o FIM must become a socially responsible organisation
o Create opportunities to make the sport, the Commissions and management
more attractive to women

Accountability
Explaining reasoning behind actions, which will ensure trust between all
parties involved

o Number of meetings of the Executive Board must increase

o Meetings of the Board of Directors with Commission Directors shall occur on
a regular basis
o Members of the Board of Directors must be assigned specific tasks and
missions
o Statutes and Strategic Plan must be revised

Solidarity
Every member of the FIM family shall receive the support they need

o Support activities for young riders, both male and female

o Support training courses, further development of coaches’ skills, participation
in various programmes
o Financial support for selected sport disciplines (e.g. Enduro, SuperMoto, etc.)
o Better system of financial support for CONUs and FMNs, especially for
developing FMNs
o Support the costs of the CONU secretariats, office, staff

Sport
The sport is our core business and asset

o Strong support for motorsport activities of FMNs

o Improvement of safety of riders, marshals, volunteers, spectators as a top
priority and permanent task
o Appreciation programmes for volunteers
o Permanent education of officials, who act on our behalf at events
o Permanent dialogue with manufacturers and promoters
o Harmonisation of rules World – CONU – National Championships
o Pursue our quest to become part of the Olympic Games
o Close cooperation with other motorsport federations to face the challenges of
the future and to increase the sphere of influence in the world of sports
o Evaluate possibility of electric moto racing

Beyond the sport

Growing importance of road safety, public affairs and mobility

o Put more emphasis on political lobbying across the world

o Focus on electric mobility, continuously develop touring
o Follow the development of alternative energies
o Gather technical know-how within the FIM (e.g. hiring experts in electric
powertrains and fuel cell technology)
o Actively support anti-doping efforts, cooperation with WADA
o Stronger role of the Judges (CJI), more tasks
o Addressing environmental matters (e.g. noise reduction, etc.)
