Tolstoy, right?

Well said and lastly?

Theme, ma’am and it is the
central idea or belief of the story.

Well done, class. Now, let us

move on to the story.

A Grain As Big A Hen’s Egg

was written by a man named
Leo Tolstoy. He is a famous
Russian author. He was born
in the year 1802 and from an
aristocratic family. What do
we mean by aristocratic,
class?? It means he belonged to a
high class family in Russia, ma’am.

Very good! Yes, he belonged

to a high class family in
Russia. In his early years, he
actually struggled in life due
to his gambling debts.
Anyway, he actually was also
a soldier. So, sometime later,
he wrote what he
experienced and witnessed in
the battlefield and that was
his first book which later
helped him to be known as
one of the best writers in
Russia. One of his works in
our lesson for today which is
“A Grain As Big As A Hen’s
Egg”.

[Pre-Reading]
1. Peasants – a poor farmer
or farm workers who has
a low status.

3. Ploughed – to dig into
dirt, soil, etc.
4. Labor – physical or
mental effort.
5. Covet – to want
(something that you do
not have) so much.

Now, I have assigned all of

you to read the short story, am I right?

Okay, now go to your groups

Reminder, class everybody in

the group should know your

Understood?
Yes, ma’am!

You may start.

vi. Application

Alright, class, now I shall

choose among your group
who will discuss. Let’s start
with group 1. (Teacher will
choose randomly among all 5
groups)
(Student will discuss in front)

vii. Generalization

Based from what is

discussed, class, what do you
think is the lesson that we
can get from it?
In my opinion, ma’am, it made me realize
the benefit that we can get from our
ancestors’ hard work and effort.

Well said. Exactly. So class,

appreciate what you have.
Not only has our ancestors
worked so hard but back
then it is all they’ve got. For
some, your grandparents
might not have the riches to
hand down to the next
generation of the family, but
they have faith in God and
the riches of our nature
which they took care for the
next generation to enjoy. But
what are we doing?
Nowadays, new inventions
are made and it causes
damages to the treasure that
was left for us. Let us all start
to make a difference and
save our nature for us to
keep living a healthy and safe
life.

IV. Evaluation

I asked all of you to bring a cartolina and crayons or any drawing materials, right? Now, as a
group, I want all of you to contribute ideas and make a poster that shows how you can
preserve the nature that has been taken care of by our ancestors. After that, I will again
choose randomly among the group to present the poster in front.

V. Assignment

As for your assignment, write a short narrative about the lineage of your ancestors.
