Concepts of teaching and learning: what difference?

Teaching is the concerted sharing of knowledge and experience, which is

usually organized within a discipline and, more generally, the provision of
stimulus to the psychological and intellectual growth of a person by another
person or artifact
Learning is the acquisition of knowledge or skills through study, experience,
or being taught.
Teaching and Learning are two words that are to be used differently since
there is a difference between the meanings. They should not be
interchanged. The word teaching can be defined as the act of giving lessons
on a subject to a class or pupils. For example, within a school a teacher
carries out the process of teaching. On the other hand, the word learning is
used in the sense of acquiring knowledge. Learning is undertaken by the
student who wishes to broaden his understanding of various concepts
pertaining to different fields. This is the main difference between the two
words.

The language teaching and learning.

Language education refers to the process and practice of acquiring a second
or foreign language.
Cognitive Linguistic approaches to language teaching and learning language
are based on the premises that language is a not an autonomous module in
the mind, that people’s knowledge of language derive from language use, and
that language derives from people’s interaction with the physical world.

5. 4. The art of teaching (choose 5 quotations and exaplain them)

Teaching becomes an art when the teacher is able to recognize his students
as human beings and is recognized within the community as a person that
influences the future.

The first aspect to highlight is education, since a teacher must recognize his
students as human beings, people capable of learning and also of teaching.
According to Saldarriaga, he argued that education can’t be seen as a format
to follow (Saldarriaga, 2006), students are not machines, therefore, it is
necessary to allow a knowledge relationship to develop within the classroom,
allowing listeners to listen and be heard among students, teachers and the
educational community in general.
