One Way Communication

One-way communication is linear and limited because it occurs in a straight line from sender to
receiver and serves to inform, persuade or command (for example, at press agencies and the
weather service) and accurate time and frequency signals, as well as for radio and television
broadcasting. There isn't any opportunity for the receiver to give feedback to the sender.
Here’s the model of one-way communication;
SENDER MESSAGE RECEIVER

B. Three-One Way Communication Mediums

 Written Communication.
Anything on paper or email is one-way since all types of written communication either have no
feedback or delayed feedback.
 Electronic Media.
Today, people tend to interact with electronic tools such as social networks that give limited
audience feedback
 Voicemail.
Might be a little better in terms of understanding; but, it still lacks simultaneous feedback. Still,
you can verify that the message was understood if you get a call back.

C. Example of Using One Way Communication

In this case, we are going to use the example in education purpose. In this digital era, we can set
a modern a class; an online class. Then, how do we use one way communication in education
purpose? There are many sites or medias to support the learning activity without requirement to
see each other in person, as examples, email newsletters, forum posts, automated voicemail
messages (like PhoneVite), text messaging services (like Remind101), even video announcements
(through a device-friendly site like Vimeo)

D. Advantage of One-Way Communications

The advantages of one-way communications are that the sender has no problem; they can carry
on with their work and don’t have to worry about anything, and it’s good for giving simple
directions.

E. The Disadvantage of One-Way Communication

The disadvantage for one-way communication would be that they can not state their opinion
and how the media text affected them, furthermore it’s less accurate than two-ways
communication.
