“As long as we are given space at
the site, we can coexist with the uni-

we would be providing environ-
mentally sound waste management.
The farm would have educational,
environmental and health benefits.”
The City Farm group lodged ob-
jections and a submission to the
Callan Park Draft Land Use Plan
with the Sydney Harbour Foreshore
Authority (SHFA) earlier this year.
Ms Thackrah said that if the farm
got the go-ahead, it could be funded
by donations, government grants
and membership fees.
Leichhardt Council is currently in
negotiation with the University of
Sydney to share control of Callan
Park’s ovals.
